Held the last Sunday in August, located in Gympie, Queensland approx. 2 hours north of Brisbane.  See map.

The race is managed by long time pigeon flyer James (Jim) Smith.  The main race in the series of 3 races will be held from Saint Lawrence, a distance of 350 miles with 2 lead-up races, one from Agnes Waters a distance of 150 miles and one from Yeppoon a distance of 250 miles.

Jim has commissioned David Tester to transport, feed and water and finally safely liberate the birds.  David never takes his eyes of the truck and sleeps right by the unit for added security.  David’s dedication and professionalism is a key factor in the well being of the birds right up to liberation.

Paul Hawkins has been invaluable with his knowledge of the Benzing System, after the crash of our old trapping system at the start of the last season racing. We are looking forward to getting the new Benzing System bedded in and exploring it’s capabilities.  Paul has brought the loft clocking and data dispersal from the dark ages into the 21st century.
